I thought this question is rather "Out of the norm" ya..

Answers:
(i)(a) No, the distribution is not normal. The random variable concerned is the number of days. Hence, is a discrete random variable.
(i)(b) No, the distrbution is not normal. The distribution may be bi-modal since it is taken from the combined distributions of 2 different groups.
(i)(c) Yes, the distribution is normal. The sample mean of distribution is taken from a normally distributed sample. Hence, the sample mean distribution follows a normal distribution.
